Chapter One
Introduction
In the year 2040, humans mastered the ability to make new animal species and altar the ones that already walk our earth. Scientists all over the world had their prized experiments that were simply amazing, but none where as unique as ASUKS's wolves. ASUKS - American Scientists in the United
Kingdom Society - was really a huge building in northern United Kingdom that held mainly American scientists. They had tried -and succeeded- to do something no other scientist had tried before; inject human DNA in a life form that was in the process of being made. They had created a strange type of wolf that quickly learned the British language. They had brains as large as a human's and where as intelligent as one, too. They began to breed, but their offspring became more and more altered until a monster was born. The moment the scientists laid their eyes on the black wolf with strange, glowing red eyes they knew they had made a terrible mistake. Many blamed their boss for not telling them to stop the operation when the wolves started to get larger than the humans themselves, but they just couldn't stop. How could you, when you had made the most amazing discovery in the world?
When the rest of the world learned of the monster that had been born in the ASUKS's lab the president of the United States himself came to the island and ordered the group to stop and destroy their creations. They were forced to retire, and where called too dangerous to experiment with DNA anymore.
The whole world seemed to sigh in relief as the society's building was destroyed, but they should have known better than to believe that the scientists would just destroy their life's work - and the creatures they had come to love - so easily. Because on a large, unknown island by the north peak of the United a small pack of strange, overly large, and altered wolves began to grow. The pack was
lead by a black wolf with glowing red eyes, a monster larger than the largest bear, a monster whose howls would carry all the way to the towns by the beaches and make the people shiver in fear.
This island was never found even though it was massive, almost as large as a small continent; because it was shrouded in a veil of magic that prevented humans from seeing it or landing on it. No one on the island knows how the scientists found it. And the only thing the wolves knew about the veil was that it kept the creatures inside it from coming out - even the ones that had been living there sense the beginning of time...
